Family Picture Day

POTATO I’m very excited to share to you the studio photos from our Family Picture Day 2015! It’s not very often that we see studio photos these days. I remember when I was in elementary and high school, having studio photos with your family or friends were all the rage! When selfies were still unknown at that time, we would go out of our way to a studio to have our solo pictures taken. It’s like, the more photos you have in your wallet, the more legit you are in the classroom. It’s kind of funny to remember how during recess we would sit down with our classmates in one corner of the classroom and trade wallets and look at those printed wallet sized pictures. Well, those were the days. Right now it’s a lot easier to just gather for dinner in one place and have our photos taken with our smart phones by a random person passing by. But I’m glad to share to you that having our photos taken in a studio is an undying, (almost) yearly family tradition – which is always a wonderful, cheezy and funny process especially when you have three families together in one room. And the best part of this whole “Family Picture Day” tradition is that you get to see how much everyone has physically changed through the years (and laugh it off after!) and how, in the end, it never really matters. As long as we have each other. (Cheezy but true!) We usually time our Family Picture Day in July, on my aunt Leanette’s birthday. It has always been that...

Color It Red

POTATO Every year, on the 12th of July (which is my dear aunt Leanette’s birthday), our whole family picks a color, just one color for everyone to wear to our almost unbroken family tradition – family picture day! For this year’s family picture day, we chose to wear the color red. We’ve chosen this color before and it’s hard not to choose it again. Red is such a bold, bright and beautiful color – perfect for that studio portrait. I was a little bit worried at first though because I wasn’t sure if I had anything red in my closet. And then I remembered this red-orange, kind of coral (under a different light, that is) maxi dress I bought from Forever 21 before and was relieved! What I love about this maxi dress is that it’s design and cut is so, so, very, very simple. (I don’t mean to exaggerate, but it is!) It’s so simple yet the color is super striking, which kind of balances it all out.   I also love the slit of this dress and how it fits me perfectly! And to top it all off, I pair it with gold accessories, which is so me! Parasailing | Paraw Sailing

POTATO I’m sharing to you our adventures on our last day in Boracay. It was my first time to go Parasailing and Paraw Sailing. And when I heard those two things, I couldn’t tell the difference until I tried them. (Yes, I was kind of that ignorant..) I was taking endless selfies on the boat while waiting for my turn to go parasailing. It was my way of avoiding sea sickness and sort of having fun. I was so excited for my turn. I just really wanted to get up and fly! I wouldn’t say it was thrilling, parasailing was more of relaxing. It was wonderful to be up in the sky, and seeing the beauty of the ocean and Boracay. Part two of that day was paraw sailing with my friends. Now this I thoroughly enjoyed! It was fun realizing you could just fall into the deep blue waters, but didn’t! Ha! Overall that day was just the best. And the cherry on top of my brief but beautiful trip to Boracay! Love, Tori Share my post to the...

The One Piece Suit

POTATO These days the one piece suit is just sexier than the two piece swim suits we usually wear on the beach. The different shapes and patterns and seamless cuts have taken our usual beach wear to a whole different level of fabulous! And my thanks go out to the creative hands and minds behind every one piece that makes going to the beach sound more fun than it already does! One piece suits are perfect for those moments when you just want to hide your tummy after pigging out, moments when you want to be sexy without showing too much skin, and moments when you just want to be fashionable on the beach. I absolutely love this one piece from Coco Cabana. The neon print and cut in the front and the meshed detail on the back are the ultimate reasons why I do! Boyfriend Shirt

POTATO The shirt dress is one of 2015’s most wearable fashion trends. You could never go wrong with that button-down and carefree style. It’s something you could wear anywhere from the mall, to the streets, on a date night or night out with your friends, and even on the beach! You just got to find the one that best suits you. But the moment you can’t, you could always rummage through your boyfriend’s closet and find one as a suitable cover up to the beach like I did. If that’s not working out, your dad’s closet could always be your perfect alternative! (Sorry Dad…) I just absolutley love how this white boyfriend shirt turned cover up goes well with the bikini I chose to wore that day. White just kind of goes with almost anything! Offshoulder

POTATO My Boracay beach adventure or any beach adventure would never be complete without an offshoulder top, dress, or anything that bares the shoulders! The moment I saw this dress, I knew I had to bring this to Boracay with me. The color is just the perfect match for this perfect beach! It was just lovely to relax in the beach for a while after having the island hopping that morning. The white sand, blue waves, surf boards and paraws everywhere and the beautiful people around were breathtaking views in themselves. The wind was blowing so hard that day and I couldn’t get my hair in place. But that didn’t matter so much since I could always get a braid after. And I did! But that’s a different story.  Soul Lifestyle Dress | Forever 21 Sandals | Kultura Sling Bag (Borrowed from my sister) Let me know what you think about my #ootd! Love, Tori Share my post to the...
