Tori’s Weekly Bucket List: Week 2/52

POTATO I’m so excited to share to you my accomplished week 2/52 bucket list! I was so afraid that I might not be able to accomplish my 5 special tasks for the week. It was kind of a hectic week for me but I’m so beyond happy I succeeded. I didn’t want it to seem like my weekly bucket list was just a one-time thing. And I’m happy that I prove myself wrong every single time! Anyway, every week, I make sure that I do something feasible and easy, or you could say “ordinary”, but nevertheless different from what I did the week before. So here are the simple yet fulfilling activities I did over the week: #1: Color! My very close friends, Jenn and Iresha gave me a coloring book last year on my birthday called, “Good Vibes Coloring Book”. Coloring books are all the rage lately. Like, seriously, you could see them all around in book stores, department stores and whatnot. But everyone loves how they were designed to relieve stress and to take your mind off serious matters like work and the bills you have to pay, etc. And it’s fun how you can let your inner creativity shine with every pattern you color! What I love about this coloring book they gave me is that the patterns themselves are wonderful messages one can live by every single day. There are also quotes on every back page of every pattern, just like this one from the late and ever brilliant Maya Angelou: #2: Have a Bite of Annie Pie’s Triple Dark Chocolate Cacao Brownies With Ganache. There...

Olive

POTATO The benefits of living in a tropical country like the Philippines, is that you could wear summer outfits all year long! I could put on my maxi skirts and halter tops without a care in the world! And today, I decided to do exactly that but with a more elegant touch. This outfit I put together is a mix of elegant neutrals with a sort of bohemian vibe. Black is one of the most elegant and the always sought-after neutral in every person’s wardrobe, because you can almost never go wrong with it. And it’s true! When you pair black with red, you get a romantic and strong look; pair it with white and you get the classic and minimalist feel to an outfit. And pairing black with olive green? To me, you get a sense of calm elegance and a bohemian touch to your entire look. To add more sophistication to this outfit, I went with a simple gold necklace that has a detailed pendant, a gold watch, and to finish off the look – gold sandals! You may have noticed already how much I love gold accessories. They’re just the prettiest and the most lady-like of things! Aside from loving gold accessories, you may also have noticed how a lot of my clothes come from Forever 21. Well, it’s because I love it there! But I always make sure that as much as possible, I get myself the basic pieces that can easily be paired with the other clothes I have in my closet. I give it my best to never invest in those one-time-use pieces when...

Tori’s Weekly Bucket List: Week 1/52

POTATO To make 2016 more memorable for me, I decided to make a bucket list every single week of the year. I know this may come as a challenge but I’m very much excited to look back by the end of the year and see how much I’ve accomplished! I want to make sure that the things that are written on my list are feasible and are very much attainable in a week’s time. So I’ve come to the decision that five weekly activities or tasks should be enough. I sure do hope I get to do all of them! So here it is. This week’s edition of my Weekly Bucket List. □ Start reading Daniel Handler’s “Why We Broke Up”. I bought this book a year ago and never really read it. I was afraid that reading it might jinx the relationship I had at that time. But turns out, not reading it was the cause. Just kidding! Anyway, I started reading it and love every single page! It’s something everyone could relate to. Because one thing I’ve learned about breakups is that they happen all the time. And it’s about how you rise from it all and turn things around. I have yet to finish the book though. And I’m beyond excited! □ Eat some smooth, melting, luscious and delicious Lindt Lindor Truffles. I’ve been craving for these truffles since Christmas! I love how the chocolate almost bursts and melts in your mouth when you pop the fragile chocolate shell. It’s complete magic and love in your mouth! A box of three truffles can cost P72 to P76...

1 Dress, 3 Ways: Look 1 of 3

POTATO When I decide to buy a dress, I always picture myself in it in every single way I could. In my head I’d be like playing dress up. I try not to look at it as just one dress because there will always be so many ways to wear it. I would try to imagine which of my pairs of shoes would go well with the dress or which of my belts should I use to cinch my waist. And for a girl out there shopping, it’s always a magical moment to realize that the piece you’re holding in both hands is a piece that’s definitely for keeps. Just like this Forever 21 number! So here it is, look 1 of 3, which I’d like to call, “Prim, Proper and Dainty” Forever 21 Dress | SM Accessories Belt | Call It Spring Bag | Centropelle Strapped Sandals Looks 2 and 3 are coming up soon in my next blog posts! New Year’s Eve in Pantone: Rose Quartz

POTATO For the year 2016, Pantone, the authority on color has named not just one but two colors of the year: Rose Quartz and Serenity. The warm rosy pink of Rose Quartz and the cool pale blue of Serenity exude a sense of peace and calmness for the year 2016 – something one would really opt to wear when welcoming the new year or on new year’s day itself. For new year’s eve, I decided to give it a shot and wear rose quartz. A Skirtful of Roses

POTATO The month of December brings with it the promise of Christmas Day, and the genuine desire to give gifts to our loved ones and the people closest to us. This month also brings with it so many big, exciting and dazzling parties that almost always require everyone to dress up to the theme, and of course, the small and intimate ones wouldn’t celebrate without one either! Just recently, I went to a Cowboys and Indians themed party, a Diamonds and Denim themed party, a Christmas Colors themed party, and finally a Hawaiian/Luau themed party. The luau-themed one is my favorite because the pieces to be worn are very comfortable and relaxed yet still very fashionable. It’s been a while since I last wore this maxi skirt. It’s very tricky and somewhat challenging to find something to pair it with but I finally found the right top for it and for the theme! And I absolutely love the double slit detail on the front, especially when it blows in the wind! We had the luau-themed party at this new hotel in Guadalupe Village, Davao City called Be-ing Suites. I love the minimalist feel of the place. It was a huge factor that definitely made it a night to remember and a very wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy. Hope you enjoyed every party you went to! #ToriSays Merry Christmas!
