#Throwback: Week 9/52 Bucket List

POTATO It’s becoming a habit of mine to post my weekly bucket list blog post every Thursday the following week. I can’t help it when I’m too busy or too tired from work. Somehow, procrastination takes over and I end up delaying my weekly story. I used to post this every Sunday as a week-ender blog post. But I’m never giving up on myself. I know I can do this! Anyway, here’s my #throwback to last week’s activites. #1: Have your 2×2 ID photo taken The last time I had my ID photo taken was about 2 years ago and I look totally different! I like changing my hairstyle a lot that’s why! I decided to do this because you’ll never know when it’ll come handy. And it’s kind of because I’ve decided to keep this hairstyle for a while. #2: Shoot with my blogger babes and Giant Images My blogger babes Yellie and Emjay, Gian of Giant Images and I have been planning to do a collaboration photo shoot for the longest time. We couldn’t seem to work it out a couple of weeks ago because of our busy schedules but finally, we found the perfect time! There could never be enough time with my girls! #3: Post OOTD photos on Instagram for the Samsung Fashion Steps Out – PH to Orchard Road Contest When Laureen Uy, one of the Philippines’ top fashion bloggers posted about the contest on her Instagram, I immediately decided to join. It would be very much exciting to visit Singapore again on an all-expenses paid trip! Aside from that, the lucky winner will be...

Week 8/2 at the Open Table

POTATO Last wednesday, I spent quality time with my blogger babes, Yellie of theyellowtrail.com and Emjay of everydayemjay.com. (Visit their websites if you please!) We had dinner in this new place in Damosa called, Open Table. It’s a quaint and cozy restaurant where you can have dinner and cocktails. Actually, there are a lot of new restaurants and new hang outs there just waiting to be tested! It will always be a good idea to dine in one of Damosa Gateway’s restaurants because you’ll never run out of choices! It’s like one minute, you could be having your favorite inihaw dish or Filipino comfort food, and be drinking or having dessert the next. So it was no wonder we chose to catch up there, because it’s so easy to hop from one place to another! Since it was going to be a ladies night/food trip night, I went with an all black look. You know how black can hide a post-food trip tummy and how black pieces can be the easiest and classiest ones to style. All the black pieces I’m wearing have their own story. I mean, you could tell how different they all are! My jacket has the daintiest pattern, my shorts are tie-dyed and my tank top, well, it’s as plain as can be! Put these three together and it becomes a wonderful mix of formal and casual. What I love about this all-black look is that I’m not over nor under-dressed; just somewhere in the middle. Also, I love how the jacket somehow pulls the look together. They say it looks expensive but really, it’s for...

Throwback: Week 6 & 7 of 52

POTATO I promised myself that I would make a simple bucket list for each week of the year and accomplish everything on the list no matter what happens! Sometimes though, I neglect to follow my self-imposed deadlines and forget to share what I have achieved for the week. Not that it matters to everyone, and not that I’m really required to do it or not that you really care. But somehow, being able to share what I’ve done each week is like a sharing a piece of myself to the world of which I’m lucky to be a part of. So here’s a #throwback to my simple and fun-filled adventures for the last two weeks: WEEK 6/52 #1: Eat French Macarons I understand that these may be far from the macarons served in the French Patisserie Laduree, but I they’re not so bad either! I was really craving for these and decided to get myself some at Annabelle’s in Abreeza Mall. Their macarons are sold at Php33 per piece. It was indeed a sweet, happy treat! #2: Get Yourself New Books More often than not, the best companion in the whole world is one, (well if not one, then maybe two) really good books! I guess every bookworm knows that one can never be lonely even when you’re alone with a book. I decided to buy new ones recently that somehow reflected my mood. Lately, I’ve been wondering about what it is I really want to do with my life (yeah, I know right) and when I stumbled upon Francois Lelord’s Hector and the Search for Happiness, I felt drawn...

Keeping It Simple

POTATO There’s always that one day in the week when I just want to tone down when it comes to dressing up, but not totally! Just enough for me to breathe a little. Sometimes, dressing up can be stressful especially when you feel like you have nothing to wear, even when there are a lot of clothes in your closet just waiting to be worn! Well, maybe for you. There are also other times when it’s stressful to dress up when you have run out of mixed and matched ensembles or outfits and you don’t want to get yourself something new because for you, it’s always good to make do with what you have. And the most frustrating thing of all? When this time, you bought yourself something new but it doesn’t quite fit with who you are or what your mood for the day is. Yeah, yeah. These are kind of superficial problems but I’d like to believe these tiny moments and daily struggles still make our lives somehow colorful. And it’s always a boost to the self esteem knowing you are able to express yourself almost concretely with the clothes you’re wearing. So my mood or goal for today is to keep things simple. And this is where my love for white tops come in handy! White, as I have previously mentioned in my other blog posts, is my number one savior. It can take my outfits from simple to chic. This time around, I wanted to be more relaxed and simple. So I chose a loose white blouse, a plain bandage skirt and  my favorite gold accessories....

I Carry Your Heart

POTATO Since Valentine’s Day is just a few days away, I wanted to share to all of you my favorite poem. And of course it’s about love! I wasn’t able to make a blog post for my week 5/52 bucket list because sadly, all my plans didnt work out and I wasn’t able to accomplish anything. I guess sometimes plans just don’t materialize the moment you want them to. Maybe it’s true that things just fall into place when you least expect it, in the right time. I’m crossing my fingers that week 6/52 will work out perfectly for me! Anyway, going back to the heart of this post, let me share to you my favorite poem by E.E. Cummings.  I can hardly remember where I first read it, but I can tell you that I really loved it the moment I discovered it because Cummings’ described how it is to love someone in the sweetest and the most enriching way anyone can. I included short interpretations of every line and I hope by the end of this post, you get inspired to celebrate love with the people you love! Enjoy! I carry your heart with me I carry it in my heart I am never without it I believe the first three lines expresses how much this person loves his lover. It expresses how deep his feelings are to the point that it is said like a promise. When we love someone, we always want to assure them how much they mean to us. “I carry your heart with me, I carry it in my heart” is like saying...
